Activities Cleanup

Many of Arkansas’ streams are polluted from people inappropriately disposing of trash. Litter reaches our waterways through many avenues including: direct dumping into the stream and runoff from road ditches and urban areas. This litter is unsightly and in some cases can lead to water quality issues.

Litter is a significant problem to Arkansas’ waters and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Stream Team Program allocates resources to help combat this problem. However, we need your help. Stream Teams from across the state annually collect hundreds of tons of trash helping Arkansas keep its reputation as the “Natural State”. New and current stream teams can request assistance from the Regional Stream Team Coordinators in planning and executing stream clean-up events. Request assistance with clean-up activities by emailing your request: click on the “Contact Us” tab, under the “Support” tab on the home screen. At your request, we will also put your clean-up event on the “Calendar” so that other stream teamers can attend.
